How Long Will Brow Lift Surgery Take?

Brow lift surgery generally takes 1 to 2 hours and is an outpatient procedure. Typically, this surgery is usually performed under local twilight anesthesia, so you will feel no pain and will have no memory of your procedure. The exact length of surgery will vary depending on the technique used. An endoscopic brow lift, for example, is a less-invasive technique that takes less time to perform than temporal brow lifts or classic brow lifts.

How Long Will Brow Lift Recovery Take?

The recovery timeline after a brow lift procedure can vary depending on several factors, although for most patients, it takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks. During the first few days of recovery, patients can expect some swelling, bruising and discomfort in the treatment area. Pain medication will be prescribed to help manage any discomfort. Patients are encouraged to take time off of work through the first 1-2 weeks. After this time, most symptoms should have subsided and you’ll be able to ease back into your normal routine. However, it’s important to avoid strenuous activities, such as exercise, while the body heals. Sun exposure should also be limited for several weeks following the procedure to protect the incision sites from sun damage.

Finally, keep in mind that the final results of the brow lift may not be fully visible until several weeks or even months after the surgery, after the swelling and bruising fully subsides.

Frequently Asked Brow Lift Surgery Questions

  • Is a brow lift a painful surgery?

No, with the anesthetic techniques used at Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery, brow lifts involve no pain or discomfort during surgery. We typically use local twilight anesthesia to perform your brow lift, which allows patients to relax comfortably throughout the duration of the procedure.

  • What are the risks of brow lift surgery?

As with any surgical procedure, brow lift surgery carries some risks and complications. Some of the risks include bleeding, infection and scarring. Some patients may also experience complications related to the healing process. However, these complications occur in less than 1% of brow lift procedures. Furthermore, Dr. Garcia’s focus and expertise on brow lift techniques help to minimize the risks associated with brow lift surgery. As with any major surgery, there will always be risks involved – but under the care of a qualified and experienced surgeon, any significant complications become extremely unlikely.

  • Can a brow lift be combined with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes, brow lifts are often combined with other facial surgeries to provide comprehensive rejuvenation without multiple surgery visits. At Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery, we most often perform the brow lift technique in combination with facelifts, neck lifts and/or eyelid surgeries. These procedures complement the results of a brow lift to enhance the youthful appearance of the facial features.
