Injectable fillers can not only improve tell-tale signs of aging, but they can also effectively alter the contours and structure of the lips and cheeks without more invasive surgical procedures. What Are Injectable Fillers?

Injectable fillers are non-surgical rejuvenation treatments that were designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and add volume to shallow contours of the face. Everyone is bound to experience fine lines, wrinkles and loss of facial volume as they age, but dermal fillers can slow these tell-tale signs of aging and delay the need for more invasive cosmetic procedures.

What Dermal Fillers and Injectables are Offered?

How Do I Know If I’m A Good Candidate for an Injectable Filler Procedure?

Injectable fillers have been proven both safe and effective by the FDA and countless clinical studies, making the majority of people viable candidates for this procedure. However, the best candidates should be in relatively good health and have a realistic idea of what dermal fillers can and cannot do for their appearance.

When you schedule a one-to-one consultation with Becky, nurse practitioner, she’ll thoroughly explain how injectable fillers work and help you determine if they can provide your desired goals.

What Will Happen During A Consultation For Injectable Fillers?

Prior to undergoing an injectable cosmetic treatment, prospective patients may undergo a pre-op consultation with Becky, nurse practitioner, who has been trained under Dr. Garica. During your consultation, we will go over your complete medical history and cosmetic goals, and provide an accurate assessment of what type of filler, and amount needed to achieve desired results.

Will I Receive Anesthesia For My Injectable Filler Procedure?

We have few options to help make filler injections more comfortable for our patients. We offer a topical numbing cream and/or patients can ice the treatment area for about 10 to 15 minutes prior to injecting. Also, many of our fillers have lidocaine in the product, which helps to have a more comfortable treatment. For an extra fee of $75, patient may use “laughing gas” just before their injections. This is especially helpful for those with a fear of needles.

How Are Injectable Fillers Performed?

The injection phase of the procedure is quick and relatively painless, often taking just a few minutes to complete. The nurse injector inserts a fine needle just below the skin’s surface and injects the filler into the problem area.

How Long Does The Procedure For An Injectable Filler Last?

Patients can expect to be in and out of the office in as little as 30 minutes. However, some injectables require multiple appointments to experience optimal results.

What Should I Expect Of The Recovery After My Injectable Filler Procedure?

It’s normal for patients to experience mild redness and swelling and sometimes bruising at the injection site following the procedure. However, these side effects should clear up within two to three days, with most patients experiencing little to no downtime.

Should I Plan To Take Time Off From Work After My Injectable Filler Procedure?

Injectables are often referred to as “lunch-time procedures”, because they require zero recovery time, and many patients resume their normal work or activity schedules immediately after treatment.

How Long Can I Expect The Results Of My Injectable Filler Procedure To Last?

The longevity of the results largely depends on individual patient anatomy and the type of filler being used. At Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of fillers to fit each individual patient’s desires. Fillers may last from around 4 months up to 5 years.
