Latisse® in Jacksonville, FL

In the past, when people developed thinning eyelashes, there wasn’t a lot that could be done. It was something to simply be accepted as part of growing older or dealing with disease. Today, people no longer need to suffer thanks to a revolutionary prescription medicine, Latisse®. Approved by the FDA, Latisse® has been shown to be safe and effective for the treatment of thinning eyelashes. At Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery, led by double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Phillip Garcia, and with convenient locations serving Ponte Vedra Beach, Orange Park and Lakeside, people with thinning eyelashes in North Florida can now benefit from Latisse® to restore their eyelashes to their youthful fullness.

What is Latisse®?

Latisse® is guaranteed to add length and restore the body to weakened eyelashes. It is the first medicine of its kind to be approved by the FDA. Mascara and false eyelashes just mask the problem of thin, short lashes. Expensive over the counter cosmetics, spa treatments, and even lash curlers help hide thinning eyelashes for a while, but the results aren’t permanent or even very long lasting. Latisse® isn’t a mascara or cosmetic product. It is a prescription medicine that will treat your thinning eyelashes rather than hiding them, and it promises to give you long-term results. It takes three to four weeks of faithful treatment to start seeing improvement. You can expect your lashes to look their fullest, darkest and achieve maximum volume about three months after you begin using Latisse®. Imagine being able to throw out your fake eyelashes and never spend another penny on expensive lash thickening mascara again!

How Much Does Latisse® Cost in Jacksonville?

Latisse® is not covered by most insurance companies. Garcia Facial Plastic surgery allows clients to pay by check, cash or credit card. Financing is also available.

What are Benefits of Latisse®?

Latisse®, a proven answer to the problem of diminishing eyelashes, offers many benefits, including:

  • Just a few short weeks to see amazing results.
  • Your eyebrows will grow fuller, stronger and longer naturally.
  • It only takes one application a day to obtain and maintain permanent results.

How is Latisse® Administered?

The first step to begin Latisse® is to meet with our aesthetician. During the consultation, you will learn the benefits of Latisse®. You will also discuss any possible side effects and together you will decide if Latisse® is a good fit for you. Once it has been decided that you are a good candidate for Latisse®, Dr. Garcia will write you a prescription and make sure you understand how to apply Latisse® at home, using the following guidelines:

  • Wash your face and gently pat it dry with a clean cloth.
  • Holding the application brush horizontally, carefully apply a drop of Latisse® to the applicator.
  • Latisse® is applied very much like eyeliner. Starting at the inside corner of your upper eyelid, gently swipe the applicator across the expanse of your lash line.
  • Use a cotton swab or clean cloth to blot away any left-over Latisse®.

Even though Latisse® is easy to apply by yourself at home, you must remember that because it is a prescription medicine, it should always be utilized as indicated. Latisse® should never be used on your bottom eyelid or eyelashes and be extra careful to keep Latisse® out of your eyes. It only works when used consistently according to your doctor’s instructions. Please report any concerns or contact your doctor or aesthetician if you have any questions about Latisse®.

Note: Through the daily use of Latisse®, you will grow thicker, darker lashes; however, if you stop using the product, you will no longer see the same results.

When Will Results From the Application of Latisse® Be Noticed?

For most patients, two to three weeks are all that is needed to start seeing the amazing results of using Latisse®. You will see noticeable improvement each week thereafter until your lashes reach their darkest, fullest peak around four months after you start using the medication. From that point, it is simply a matter of applying Latisse® daily to maintain your new lashes.

Mild side effects of Latisse® include:

  • Itchy, red eyes
  • Dry eyes
  • Darkened eyelids
  • Darkened pigmentation around the iris

These side effects are normal and typically do not cause our patients discomfort in the long term.

Latisse® is only FDA-approved to enhance the growth and length of eyelashes. Patients are not recommended to use the serum on the eyebrows. Instead, patients who wish to have more full and thick eyebrows should consider other solutions like microblading.

Patients are typically able to begin seeing the results of their Latisse® treatments within two to three months of use. This allows enough time for the eyelash growth cycle to complete multiple times, giving your eyelashes the chance to grow exponentially. Patients are typically able to see ultimate results within six months of using their serum diligently.

No, because Latisse® is a cosmetic treatment, it is not covered by insurance. Dr. Garcia understands the importance of affordable treatments. For this reason, a breakdown of fees and the cost of your Latisse® treatment will be presented to you after your consultation. Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery accepts cash, major credit cards, and personal checks.
