That is why many women are turning to microblading! Imagine enjoying a more carefree makeup routine, with one less thing to worry about! You can get amazing, perfectly blended brows in less time than it takes to pluck one eyebrow!

What is Microblading?

Microblading is the latest technique in cosmetic tattooing. This manual tattoo creates a brow that flawlessly resembles the natural look of your eyebrow. By using a manual technique instead of a machine, the aesthetician can form individual hair strokes to shape the brow and give it a fuller look by erasing the bare patches and adding volume. Microblading, also known as 3D brows or eyebrow embroidery, is a customized eyebrow that does not use a template and will be designed and tinted to blend naturally with your facial features and skin tone.

How Does Microblading Work?

The new microblading technique uses a hand-tool that holds disposable microblades (or fine needles) to delicately design your eyebrow by inserting pigment under the skin, much like a traditional tattoo. Before the needle is inserted, the aesthetician will discuss your desired outcome, what will look best with your facial shape and the visual effects the eyebrows will have on your face. The pigment is only used on the top layer of skin and will give you a beautiful, polished look day and night!

What Can I Expect From Microblading?

The procedure is non-invasive and extremely comfortable, with most people experiencing little to no pain. The aesthetician will apply a numbing cream to the area before expertly “drawing each hair”. Then the aesthetician will use the needles to blend the strokes of the tattoo together to create a natural, fuller-looking brow. You may notice that at first, your brows look a little darker and wider than you originally anticipated. This is normal and will fade within two weeks.

You will have a follow-up appointment about three weeks after your first treatment. At this appointment, you will receive another round of tattooing that will fine tune any problem areas and will give your brows the final touch to ensure the perfect color and shape that will enhance your natural appearance.

How Does Microblading Differ from Micropigmentation Tattooing?

Microblading is only used on the surface of the skin, whereas micropigmentation causes the pigment to be inserted into the underlying dermis. The manual use of the hand-held device helps the aesthetician to control the placement of the pigment so that it is closer to the surface of the skin.

How Long Does the Microblading Pigmentation Last?

The results are semi-permanent and can last up to two years. You will need regular touch-ups to keep your brows looking their best. It is recommended that you receive a color boost at least every six months. It is important to remember that everyone’s skin is different so the amount of time you will need between touchups or procedures will not be the same as someone else.
