Lip Augmentation

Lip Augmentation in Jacksonville, FL

Lip Augmentation is a commonly used cosmetic procedure in the USA to restore volume and plumpness to the lips. It gives a fuller appearance, and erases lines. Many people with genetically thin lips receive lip augmentation to help give them plumper lips. Lip Augmentation is also a great option for people whose lips have receded with age. As collagen diminishes and lips become thinner and flatter than they appear aged. There are several different procedures that may be good options for you to explore if you’re considering the benefits of lip augmentation: implants, injectable fillers, and dermabrasion.

Lip fillers are a temporary solution and generally last six to eighteen months, depending on the patient and the product. Collagen-based fillers once had much more popularity, but now hyaluronic acid based fillers have become more popular as they produce less side effects than implants, and collagen based fillers. Hyaluronic-based fillers offer a wide variety of different injections. The most commonly used are Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Belotero Balance, HylaForm, Elevess, Prevelle Silk, and Captique. Usually, it takes a few minutes to administer the injections and there is relatively no recovery time, although there may be slight swelling and bruising. Post-procedure patients will notice decreased lines and wrinkles in the lips along with a nice plump look.

Lip implants provide a permanent lip augmentation with more refined results than dermal lip fillers. The three most popular kinds of implants are Permalip, SoftForm, and AlloDerm. Each on works a little differently and can benefit patients in different ways. Lip implant surgery is a simple procedure lasting approximately thirty minutes to complete. The surgeon first makes small incisions at the corners of the mouth. This ensures incisions are hidden. The surgeon will then insert implants and thread it to the lip. Then it will be trimmed to proper length, and the incision will be closed. There is relatively little recovery time and most patients can return to their normal lives in a few days, although there may be some swelling and bruising.
