What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment. First, we apply a topical cream to numb your skin before the procedure. Microneedling is performed manually with a tool that is designed with a series of very small needles. The tool is gently applied to the skin to create the micro-channels or tiny holes. This allows the stimulation of collagen and elastin to heal the skin and produce gradual improvements over time.
What Happens After Microneedling?
After your microneedling treatment, your skin may have a light pink color for the first day or two and there may be some minor swelling or tenderness for 24 hours. After 2-4 weeks, results are noticeable. Collagen continues to develop, with results lasting four to six months. There is minimal downtime, and often the treatment can be done during a lunch break.
What is the PDO Thread Lift?
Unlike microneedling, a PDO thread lift gives you an immediate “lift” that softens wrinkles. First, you will be given local anesthesia in the treatment area to help you remain comfortable. The PolyDioxanOne (PDO) suture is inserted into an acupuncture needle, which is then injected under the skin. The technique is similar to getting stitches for a wound, but the length of sutures under the skin is longer. Over time, the sutures are absorbed by the skin, which creates new collagen around it, producing a smoother, tighter facial appearance.
What Happens After the PDO Thread Lift?
A PDO thread lift can cause some minor swelling or tenderness for 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Additionally, this procedure can be done on a lunch break and requires zero downtime. Patients will notice a roughly 30% improvement right after the treatment as well as increased collagen production for up to six months.
