Regardless of how well you take care of your skin, the signs of aging will catch up with almost everyone. Led by our double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, the team here at Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery is now offering the advanced dermal filler known as Sculptra® to all residents of North Florida. With four convenient locations serving Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine and Jacksonville, we can help you erase facial blemishes for up to two years at a time with this popular injectable treatment.
What Is Sculptra®?
As many people grow older, their bodies will begin producing less collagen. This can result in a loss of skin volume, as well as problems with elasticity. Sculptra® is an FDA-approved dermal filler that can stimulate the production of collagen, hydrate one’s skin and add volume to where it is needed the most.
Benefits of Sculptra®
For most patients, the biggest benefit of Sculptra® is the longevity of the results. While some dermal fillers last for less than six months, Sculptra® injections often last for up to two years at a time before maintenance treatments are needed.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Sculptra®?
If you have recently noticed a loss of volume in your cheeks, fine lines, wrinkles or other facial blemishes, then you will most likely make a great candidate for Sculptra®. This popular dermal filler is an excellent option for almost any healthy adult who would like to take years off of their appearance without undergoing an invasive procedure.
How Should I Prepare For Sculptra®?
Preparing for dermal filler injections is easier than ever. Patients need to notify the nurse injector of any medications, supplements, previous injections or other medical conditions that could affect the results. In the days leading up to your procedure, you should also avoid alcohol and all anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
How Is Sculptra® Administered?
In order to avoid any discomfort, the nurse injector will first apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment site. After the area is numb, they will then inject doses of Sculptra® just under the skin. Depending on your cosmetic goals, more than one treatment session might be needed.
How is Sculptra® different from other products I have heard of?
Many dermal fillers contain substances such as hyaluronic acid (HA) and artificial collagen to physically add volume to the patient’s skin and soften their wrinkles. Sculptra®, on the other hand, thickens the patient’s skin so that it produces its own collagen. By stimulating the production of natural proteins, the results last much longer.
Can Sculptra® be combined with other facial fillers?
Sculptra® is completely non-invasive, which means it can be combined with a wide variety of other cosmetic procedures. During your initial consultation, you and the nurse injector can discuss other injectables and treatments that could help you meet your cosmetic goals. For many of our patients, we create personalized treatment plans to reverse the signs of aging throughout the face and neck.
How Much Does Sculptra® Cost In Jacksonville?
Due to the fact that Sculptra® is considered an elective cosmetic procedure, basic health insurance will typically not cover the costs. This is why we offer our patients flexible financing options. We also accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
