What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a family of advanced formula wrinkle fillers containing hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural element that is already found in the body. The HA acts as a binding agent, where it attaches to water molecules in the skin to produce added hydration. This abundance of water keeps the skin from becoming weak and thin, the two culprits that are the underlying cause of the most common signs of aging, such as crow’s feet, frown lines and fine lines that form at the corners of the mouth. When Restylane® is injected into the deepest layers of the skin, the added moisture creates a healthier, younger looking appearance. Not only does Restylane® eliminate wrinkles, but it can also be injected into the lips and cheeks to add plumpness and volume.
How Much Do Restylane® Treatments Cost in Jacksonville?
While it’s unlikely that your insurance will pay for the cost of this elective procedure, Dr. Garcia offers several methods of payment including personal check, cash or credit card. Financing is also an option.

How Should I Prepare for Restylane®?
Your first step in preparing for your Restylane® treatment is to find a highly-trained doctor who is knowledgeable about Restylane® and can answer any questions that you may have including questions about side effects, recovery time, and risks that may be associated with the procedure. After you have found the right person to administer your treatment, the second step is to discuss any medical issues that you have or have had in the past that may interfere with the treatment. List all allergies that you have and also list any medications, vitamins or supplements that you are currently taking, both prescription and over-the-counter. You should also advise the doctor if you have any active infections, rashes, acne, cold sores, inflammation or skin irritations. You may have to postpone your treatment if you have any of these issues.
How is Restylane® Administered?
During your procedure, the area that is going to be treated will be numbed with a topical ointment that will numb the skin and minimize discomfort. After you are numb, the Restylane® will be injected into the skin using an ultra-fine needle. After the injection, the nurse injector will gently massage the area to evenly distribute the gel. Once this is complete, you are finished and ready to go back to your normal activities.
