If you suffer from deep skin creases, wrinkles or folds, Radiesse® is one of the top alternatives to invasive plastic surgery to treat these extensive skin imperfections. This injectable cosmetic filler naturally increases the body’s own collagen production to plump and volumize aging skin. What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a volumizing dermal filler that provides immediate volume to moderate and severe wrinkles and creases in the outermost layers of the skin, and continuous, long-lasting volume correction from the inside out. The injectable filler delivers calcium-derived microspheres to immediately replenish lost volume and provide structural support at the injection site. These microspheres continue to plump the skin and provide additional support and elasticity by creating a microscopic lattice under the skin and stimulating the body’s natural collagen production process. Over time, the microspheres are reabsorbed by the body, leaving new collagen behind to fill in the lattice-like structure and restore an even and youthful appearance to the skin.

How Much Do Radiesse® Treatments Cost in Jacksonville?

The cost of elective cosmetic treatments, such as Radiesse®, is not covered by most health insurance providers. However, Dr. Garcia offers flexible payment options to make the beautiful, more youthful skin that his patients desire more affordable. Cash, credit cards, and checks are also acceptable forms of payment for this procedure. Financing is also available.

What are Benefits of Radiesse®?

Unlike other dermal fillers that provide a temporary solution for folds and wrinkles, Radiesse® rebuilds the foundation of the skin from within. The product forms new collagen deep within the skin to stimulate repair using the body’s own natural processes. Radiesse® provides gradual, subtle and more natural results that have been clinically proven to last up to two years in some patients. Additional benefits of Radiesse® include:

  • Immediately noticeable results with continuous improvements over the course of three months
  • Results that last for up to two years
  • Low risk of allergic reaction or rejection
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite used to synthesize the formula is naturally occurring in healthy skin, and, therefore, safe for the body
  • Zero downtime and no recovery period
  • Short treatment sessions

Who Is a Good Candidate for Radiesse®?

While Radiesse® is one of the most widely used dermal fillers, it’s important to go over your options with Dr. Garcia because the treatment isn’t suitable for everyone. The formula has been FDA approved to safely and effectively treat a wide variety of patients, but Dr. Garcia usually recommends Radiesse® for men and women between the ages of 35 and 60 who want to improve the appearance of their chin, cheeks, jawline, nose or smile without an invasive surgical procedure. Radiesse® is ideal for patients who want a surgical alternative to treat:

  • Frown lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Smile or laugh lines, also known as nasolabial folds

If you suffer from facial lipoatrophy, a medical condition that makes the cheeks and other fatty areas of the face sink in and lose contour, Radiesse® treatments are also effective for restoring volume to these recessed areas.

How Should I Prepare for Radiesse®?

Since Radiesse® only contains ingredients that are naturally found in the body, the treatment is safe for most patients, and allergic reactions are rare. However, the FDA approved Radiesse® for injection by a qualified nurse or medical doctor.

Even though Radiesse® is completely safe, you are still required to notify your nurse or medical practitioner of any allergies or existing medical conditions prior to treatment. If you’re currently on any medications or have undergone any injectable cosmetic procedures recently, you should also share this information with your medical practitioner ahead of your procedure. If your skin shows signs of irritation, inflammation or infection, it’s best and most likely that your Radiesse® treatment be deferred to a later time.

How Is Radiesse® Administered?

At the start of the treatment session, a local anesthetic is injected at the treatment site to minimize pain and discomfort. The Radiesse® syringe is then injected into the problem area(s), just below the skin’s surface with a small needle. Patients should notice immediate volume correction, but dramatic improvements in skin folds, wrinkles and creases will gradually continue over the course of two to three weeks as collagen production increases.

The entire treatment session lasts anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated. A single treatment session can produce results that last for up to two years for some patients.
