Frequently Asked Questions:
Cheek/Chin Implant Surgery

Recovery after Cheek Implant/Chin Implant Surgery

Where will I stay after surgery?

Once your implant surgery is completed, you will be taken to one of our recovery cottages, where you will have a certified caregiver stay with you all night. The caregiver will among other things help feed you and help you get around. One of your family members is welcome to stay at the recovery cottage.

Where are the incisions for a chin implant/cheek implant going to be?

The incisions for your surgery will be located inside your mouth. Jacksonville plastic surgeons, Phillip and Roberto Garcia will ensure that your cheek/chin implant surgery incisions are appropriate for your needs and concerns and allow for the best results possible.

Is there pain after implant surgery?

No. Cheek/chin implant surgery is not painful. At worst, you may feel a very small amount of tightness and swelling for a few days after the procedure but this will subside as your swelling goes down. Occasionally, patients feel temporary numbness in the operated areas but this improves in a matter of weeks.

Will I look unnatural after implant surgery?

The goal of implant surgery is to create prominence to the cheek/chin areas in a natural fashion that falls inside the proportions of your face. Remember, the goal as with all of our operations is to make you look natural and well proportioned. Jacksonville cosmetic surgery doctors, Roberto and Phillip Garcia specialize in cheek/chin implant surgery and will only recommend implants that allow you to look natural.

What materials do you use for cheek implant/chin implant surgery?

Cheek implants are made from Silastic which is a non-absorbable, soft, medical grade implant material that looks and feels completely natural. Chin implants are custom made by us for each patient and are made of Mersilene mesh which is a medical grade material that has been safely used by surgeons for many years. The benefit of the mesh is that it is highly customizable and it integrates into the soft tissues eventually feeling like your own tissues.
